Hatha Yoga | Practicing Indoors and Outdoors

Whether you practice Indoor or Outdoors, practice Yoga with good ventilation in a room or place that is calm and peaceful. You can also practice Asanas outdoors provided that the surroundings are pleasant, such as a nice garden with lots of greenery and flowers which is very soothing visually as well as quiet.

Practicing in the cold wind, polluted or smelly air is inadvisable, as you'll need good air to obtain maximum benefit of breathing asanas. Also practicing in close proximity to furniture or a fireplace is hazardous. Plus you'll need a good amount of room to perform Asanas with your arms and legs. In case it's pretty hot, then you can practice yoga with a fan to keep your body cool and comfortable.

Hatha Yoga | Exercising on an Empty Stomach

From the time that you eat, there should be at least three hours gap prior to practicing yoga, whether you exercise in the morning or evening, as this will enable you to perform Yoga Asanas appropriately. Otherwise you might have stomach pains and risk the possibility of hurting your digestive areas when doing stomach, back or any exercises where you're required to do twist and turns, be it standing or sitting down.

Almost all Asanas require breathing and Pranayama requires deep breathing. So, exercising on a full stomach will affect your ability to breathe deeply as your stomach is already bloated with food. Plus, eating before you exercise will mean that your body will spend more time to digest and as a result, will burn less fat potential. However, eating lightly such as fruits will ensure that you obtain maximum benefit of physical and breathing Asanas performed, as your body will spend less time processing food.

Hatha Yoga | Practicing Yoga with the right Instructor

If you're beginning a Hatha Yoga class, you should be asked questions about your current state of health by your Certified Yoga Instructor. The instructor does this to gauge your ability as to which asanas you can and should attempt to do in relation to your health. This is the one of the key indicators of recognizing and practicing yoga with the right instructor.

The health questions posed to you by your instructor can vary from existing conditions of back problems, breathing problems, heart problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, etc… The more detail you give to your instructor on your current state of health will help you as a student to avoid any injury or aggravate an existing health condition. Along with that, you'll also learn the particular exercises or asanas required to minimize your existing health conditions.

As a newcomer to learning hatha yoga exercises or asanas you'll require individual attention and care to ensure that the exercises or asanas carried out by you are done appropriately for maximum health benefit and under supervision of a certified yoga instructor. And after a couple of yoga classes where you've appropriately followed the instructions given from your yoga instructor without inflicting injury or aggravation to your body, you'll begin to feel the benefits of improved health. This is also another key indicator that you are practicing yoga with right instructor.

Hatha Yoga | Beginning with the right Asanas

Hatha Yoga has many prescribed Asanas (postures) for general health, for weight control, for better eyesight, for mental calm, even for curing disabilities and diseases. Hatha Yoga can transform you into good health if you follow the asanas correctly. Hatha Yoga Asanas broadly start from Head, Arms, Chest, Back to Legs. These Warm Up Exercises (Asanas or Postures) are to be done for about a half hour (30 minutes). This is then followed by Relaxation postures after which more strecting and breathing postures can be attempted while laying on the floor.

Once you have mastered these simple exercises, you can then attempt more strenuous asanas for muscular development and building physique. This is then followed by asanas for the nerves and arteries as they too are critical to good health. To achieve full mastery of Hatha Yoga, you will have to learn asanas to Cleanse your body internally. Mastering all of these techniques for doing Hatha Yoga Asanas can offer you lifelong mental, physical and spiritual rewards.

Hatha Yoga | A Stretching Exercise from Head to Toe

Hatha Yoga is a stretching exercise that lengthens and strengthens muscles from end to end, not just the middle. By twisting and stretching the muscles, Hatha Yoga helps to release built up toxins, making muscles stronger, more flexible, more resilient, resistant to stress and less susceptible to an injury. In fact, it releases stress and is like a natural dose of valium for calming the mind and managing stress. Yoga is the best defense for people who suffer from anxiety and stress disorders. Hatha Yoga makes positive changes in people's lives and increases longevity through increased flexibility, greater strength and improved breathing, key ingredients to a healthy life.
